Overview

My Father’s Yeeros, located on Ramsgate Rd in Ramsgate Beach, is a shining beacon of authentic Greek cuisine that honors a proud family legacy. Steeped in tradition yet confidently modern, this humble eatery breathes new life into the classic yeeros experience, inviting both locals and travelers to savor flavors deeply rooted in Greek culinary heritage.

The heart of the menu lies in their yeeros—especially the beef variant, which many patrons, like Stav, praise for its genuine, robust taste reminiscent of the golden days of the 80s and 90s. The generous cuts of meat, whether beef, tender lamb, or succulent chicken, are clearly crafted with care and devotion. The meats avoid excess grease, focusing instead on richness and texture, a testament to their in-house preparation and quality sourcing.

Complementing the yeeros are the hand-cut chips, a standout feature that elevates the entire meal. Far from the commonplace frozen variety, these chips carry an old-school charm—crispy, fresh, and perfectly golden—which aligns with the restaurant’s commitment to authenticity. This attention to detail brings back a nostalgic bite appreciated by seasoned Greek food lovers and newcomers alike.

Chef-driven simplicity extends to their Greek salad and sides, abundant with quality feta, Kalamata olives, and vibrant vegetables, dressed impeccably to balance each plate. These elements reinforce the dining experience as one that respects and showcases genuine Mediterranean flavors.

The dining space, though modest, strikes a balance between casual takeaway and inviting eatery. With both inside seating and kerbside tables, it caters to families, solo diners, and groups seeking a relaxed, hospitable atmosphere. Owners John and Olympia, continuing the tradition from their famed Marrickville roots, foster a warm environment where customers feel like part of the family—something echoed fondly by many visitors.

Service here reflects the same care found on the plates. Despite the steady flow of guests, especially during peak times, staff remain approachable and accommodating, enhancing the overall experience without rushing the patrons. This combination of genuine hospitality and quality food makes My Father’s Yeeros a gold standard in Sydney’s Greek culinary landscape.

For anyone craving honest, flavorful Greek yeeros paired with fresh, handmade accompaniments in a welcoming setting, My Father’s Yeeros delivers on all fronts. Whether you're making a special trip from across Sydney or a local hunt for classic tastes, this spot promises a memorable journey back to the roots of Greek tradition with every bite.

The best Yeeros's by far that i have had since back in the hey days of the 80 and 90's. Was worth the drive out there. Took me back to my child hood where the meat is actually meat. This is the best Beef Yeeros, you can tell the meat has been made with effort & love. The chicken and lamp was good as well but the Beef Yeeros was the best. Chips are old school cut & taste grate completing the experience. I highly recommend to try the Beef Yeeros! Cant wait for my next visit - staff were really accommodating also.

We made the trip from Southwest Sydney to My Father's Yeeros in Ramsgate, and it was worth every kilometer. It's clear that owners John and Olympia are carrying on the legendary legacy of the original Marrickville shop. Even at full capacity on a Saturday, the service was exceptional. We ordered three mixed meat platters and a large gyros—the portions were massive, but the quality was the real standout. The meat is clearly high-grade and prepared in-house; it was incredibly flavorful without being greasy at all. Their famous hand-cut chips are a must-try—you can really taste the difference when they're fresh and not from a freezer bag. The hospitable atmosphere created by the owners makes you feel like family. Whether you're a local or coming from across Sydney, this is the gold standard for Greek food. We’ll definitely be back!

The vegetarian chip wrap was amazing and the portion size was very generous. The chips were cooked perfectly — crispy and fresh. The staff were also really friendly and approachable, which made the experience even better. Would definitely recommend and will be back again.

I'm a foodie who's a huge fan of Greek Food and tradition. My father's Yeeros is on a busy strip, a modern reimagining of the traditional Greek Yeeros (firmly rooted in the OG Illawarra Rd Marrickville owned by his father). The food is on par with Marrickville. A great indication of quality is how packed this place gets, especially with actual Greeks. What's the food like? I had a Chicken & Lamb mixed plate (shared with my partner) The Lamb was succulent and cooked to perfection. The Chicken was also excellent. The meat portion on the plate was plentiful. The Chips!! They are hand-cut (hard to find nowadays in the era of frozen food) and a specialty. The Greek salad was delicious. It had plenty of good-quality olives and feta and was dressed perfectly. The plate was served with pita bread; you could choose tzatziki or hummus. Overall, the food was high-quality, delicious, and very "Greek." The "My father's Yeeros" experience. Measure your expectations for the whole experience as they occupy the space between a takeaway food bar & restaurant. Firstly, don't compare this place to "Brothers Kebabs or your local snack pack place"; it's like comparing spaghetti to a hamburger. Secondly, this place is busy, so don't expect instant high-churn gratification like McDonald's or Kebab shops. Good things come to those who wait. I noticed negative reviews saying onerous and ridiculous things about the food. It's nonsense. The food is excellent. Don't buy Uber Eats delivery and expect a fresh food experience. Don't listen to people with clueless, uneducated palettes who have written a couple of complaints reviews. These people are the scourge of food reviews and cloud-great businesses selling great food. I spoke to the owner, who was very friendly and welcomed my questions about his family and the menu (I'm the hand-cut, chip-obsessed guy with the glasses). Despite the Facebook noise, yes, his dad was the original owner of Marrickville Yeeros for 30+ years, and yes, he maintains quality. The service is friendly, the place is clean, and the prices are pretty good. They do takeaway or dine-in. Seating is hard to get but not impossible when it's busy (Thursday through Sunday). Outside kerbside tables next to the carpark are a bonus. Overall, after my second try, I rate “My Father's Yeeros” highly. Judging by the crowd, they are onto a winner.

Absolutely love this place. The food is always fresh, the Yeeros are packed with flavor, the Haloumi is perfectly grilled, and the Salads are crisp and delicious. The service is outstanding with John, Yelena, Stamti, and Olympia always greet you with a warm smile and make you feel right at home. Highly recommend.

I went on a Saturday at 7pm so I expected it to be busy. It was very humid and raining outdoors. The food was very good if you are a fan of the yeeros shop in Marrickville you wont be disappointed. Positive Tastes the same as Yeeros shop in Marrickville and was not ridiculously priced $22 for small chips and Lamb yeeros. Chip serves are large and are a half crunchy half soggy consistencey which I don't mind. The staff of about 8 people worked constantly filling orders and getting them out to people waiting. Negative It was sooo humid and so few tables meant everyone was circling tables especially inside as it was raining. whilst protected from the rain there is NO air con or even a fan so everyone in my party gobbled down the food as there was no respite inside from the heat in fact it was hotter inside. Meat was barely warm, I suppose because they were trying to meet the demand. I would return but I will go outside of peak times as its not worth the wait and attention to detail is compromised understandably with so many people needing to be served at once. hats off to them they do a good job under the circumstances but a simple wall mounted fan is a must! would take away unless cool temperature as I would never again subject myself to that heat in the store.

This shop I’ve been going to since the 80s when it was in Marricville . When it reopened in Ramsgate the food was amazing like it used to be. With the addition of pork on the menu this place is great. The chips are still fresh cut and old school. Better location Ramsgate with plenty of parking keep up the good work John and crew
